    When should you wash your hands?

    Wash your hands before you...

    • Prepare or eat food
    • Treat a cut or a wound

    Wash your hands after you...

    • Go to the bathroom
    • Handle uncooked foods, particularly raw meat,poultry or fish
    • Change your children's nappies
    • Blow your nose, cough or sneeze
    • Play with your pet animals
    • Play/Work in the garden
    • Take out the rubbish

    How should you wash your hands?

    • Use warm, running water and a carex gentle antibacterial hand cleansing product
    • Wash all surfaces thoroughly, including wrists, palms, backs of hands, fingers and under fingernails
    • Rub hands together for at least 10 to 15 seconds
    • Make sure you rinse your hands thoroughly before drying
